VIDEO ALERT: COGC Talks Bungled Sandy Relief Bill with Neil Cavuto

Last week, Executive Director Mattie Duppler was on Fox Business to discuss the $64 billion Hurricane Sandy Relief bill the Senate is slated to consider this week. The bill is riddled with pork such as $2 million to the Smithsonian in DC. Most importantly, the proposal hardly qualifies as an "emergency" effort with most of the spending happening from 2015-2022.

“Does this help the victims that have been affected in any way, whose homes have been wiped away? It doesn’t. The idea that the federal government is going to step in and start spreading all of this magical dough around and fix the problem is going to distract from real recovery efforts. We are going to need to be very circumspect about this.”
