Recent protests by fast-food workers demanding higher wages has once again raised the debate about minimum wage laws - on Real News on The Blaze, COGC Executive Director Mattie Duppler discusses new rhetoric on the left regarding worker compensation.
Deemed "pre-distribution," the idea is that if voters were given the chance to set minimum wage laws, workers would be rewarded with higher incomes. But isn't that the basis of a republic? Aren't voters electing lawmakers to make those choices for them? Is this the same trick, just repackaged by labor unions whose influence in national politics is waning?
